Licensed Medical Aesthetician & Assistant Cosmetic Laser Practitioner
For Nicole Altamirano, delivering impactful clinical results and exceeding patient expectations is what drives her day-to-day interactions at Atlanta Face & Body. As a Licensed Medical Aesthetician and Assistant Cosmetic Laser Practitioner, Nicole expertly performs all noninvasive treatments we offer through our FAB Med Spa.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, she’ll tell you it was skincare that eventually brought her to the Atlanta area. But first, Nicole lent her talents to other activities. Growing up, she became quite the accomplished dancer. After all, you don’t get to be a backup dancer for the one-and-only Prince without knowing how to make some stellar moves. She also worked in the movie industry for a time as an aspiring actress, but life would soon have other plans.
Nicole moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota for a time and worked as an art director at an art licensing agency, but she became enamored with an up-and-coming beauty trend – airbrush tans. She learned the craft and started performing tanning on the side. With her art director position, she traveled to Atlanta twice a year and noticed that the people in the area seemed to enjoy that sun-kissed look more than those up north. That got her wheels turning to make a career shift.
Then, at 32, Nicole and her husband had their second child, which resulted in major changes to her skin. She describes that time as having flashbacks of being a 16-year-old with acne all over again.

“I ended up getting into skincare for a couple different reasons,” Nicole said. “One, I had a product that made people look good and I needed to move to Atlanta so I could put that product to use. And two, because my skin was going nuts due to a hormonal shift.”
She interviewed at a prestigious Atlanta med spa, was hired on the spot, and proceeded to run the airbrush tanning program there for five successful years. But it was her delve into laser treatments that sealed the deal for Nicole’s career trajectory.
“I fell in love with lasers. That was it for me,” she said. “It’s all about clinical results. See problem, fix problem. That’s my motto.”
Following her med spa experience (as well as 10 years working in dermatology), Nicole felt like plastics was the next step. She learned quickly that working with medical doctors in the aesthetic realm offered unmatched benefits. In researching Dr. Elizabeth and Atlanta Face & Body, she realized she found the pick of the litter.
“I like medical, I like clinical treatments, and I prefer to work with doctors,” she said. “It’s a different environment. There’s a lot more training involved than with just a med spa. I enjoy that.”

Aside from her obvious love of lasers, VI Peel is Nicole’s top-pick treatment due to the consistency of results. But she’s also a huge fan of body contouring.
“It wasn’t until I started doing a lot of the body treatments that I realized the patient satisfaction was through the roof,” she said. “I like doing things with high patient satisfaction, and I’m happy that I work at a place that offers the more superior treatment options.”
When Nicole isn’t making beautiful changes in her patients’ lives, she’s living more of an animal-centered lifestyle. She has two dogs, two bunnies, cats, and typically participates in horse therapy on Sundays with her youngest son, who is autistic. She also generally loves spending time with both of her adult sons.
