Medical Aesthetician
Building relationships with her patients while leading them down a path of desired results through her knowledge and skill as a Medical Aesthetician is something Ariel Gorham looks forward to every day. Her experience with all our noninvasive FAB Med Spa treatments at Atlanta Face & Body keeps people coming back for more.
Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Ariel’s youth included playing softball through middle school and cheerleading through high school. Though many professionals in the aesthetic domain acknowledge an interest in some form of the industry early on in life, Ariel is honest that she was not in that same category. After trying her hand at the traditional college route and quickly realizing that sitting in a classroom wasn’t her forte, her gears shifted in more of a cosmetology school direction…which she admits is rather strange given her background of indifference.

“I never really was the girl who wore a lot of makeup,” Ariel said. “I’m still not, and I never really did a lot with my hair. So, it’s kind of weird that I wanted to try cosmetology school. But I ended up loving it.”
With her newfound skills acquired at cosmetology school, Ariel proceeded to do hair for about 5+ years in Birmingham before she felt it was time for another shift. Wanting to try a new adventure, Ariel became a flight attendant based in Houston, Texas. When she had her fill of that adventure after a few years, she realized her previous cosmetology passion was knocking once again. She knew she didn’t want to get back to doing hair, however. As fate would have it, she became more and more interested in skincare during her cosmetology hiatus.
“I found myself watching more skincare and laser treatment videos,” Ariel said. “I was really just learning about it on my own and becoming more interested in it at every turn.”
That growing desire led Ariel to enroll in a specialized medical aesthetics training course through the National Laser Institute in Dallas. There, she learned the intricacies of many advanced treatments, including Morpheus8, laser hair removal, IPL Photofacials, and body contouring, among others.

Though hard to nail down a favorite, IPL Photofacials hold a special place in Ariel’s heart.
“I love it because it’s picking that pigmentation up, so you almost get instant gratification from it,” she said. “You can see it picking up that pigmentation and getting darker. Or, if you’re targeting vascular redness, you can see it addressing that almost right away.”
When it comes to working with patients, Ariel’s focus is, of course, on results. But just as important for her is to establish that aspect of camaraderie with anyone in her treatment chair.
“Building that trust and a relationship with my patients is the best part,” she said. “Sometimes you’re in there for a couple of hours, and you’re just cutting up and making them feel comfortable throughout the treatment. It’s so rewarding.”
Aside from her beloved patient interactions, Ariel also revels in working alongside a stellar team.
“I love the team of aestheticians that I work with,” she said. “The way we work together and help each other out, we just work so well as a unit.”
In her spare time, Ariel enjoys almost any activity that gets her outside, especially hiking.
