Dr. Elizabeth creates small access points under your chin and typically at the base of the earlobes to allow for fat removal and contouring of the jawline. She then utilizes the latest in laser technology to target smaller volumes of excess fat or skin just under the chin. The laser allows for both the fat to break up and loose skin to noticeably tighten. The procedure can often be done with local anesthesia and relaxation techniques in about an hour. Due to the location and size of incisions, scars are most often smaller and harder to notice once full healing has taken place.
What is recovery like with chin liposuction for men?
Following your procedure (which typically takes about an hour), you’ll wear a compression bandage over the treated area for the first few days. Swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort in the treatment area will likely be experienced, but these diminish in as little as a week. Dr. Elizabeth may prescribe an antibiotic ointment to apply to your incisions, and she recommends you avoid sun exposure or getting excessive amounts of water on the face and chin for a few days.
